South Okanagan

Family Resource Programs encompasses a variety of programs that are offered to parents and their young children and providing support, assistance, learning and friendship with other families. The Family Outreach Program provides support and assistance for parents and parents-to-be who may feel isolated and want to create a strong, healthy family. The services within the program are listed below.

Osoyoos, Oliver and Okanagan Falls

Integrated Family Development Service (Ages: 5-19yrs and Parents)

The Integrated Family Development Program is a free voluntary service that facilitates counseling, support, parent education, conflict resolution, and community connections for children, youth and their families to increase healthy family functioning and develop positive life skills.
The program’s role in the community is preventive in nature, aiming to stop the escalation of problems to a point where more intrusive interventions might be required. The service employs interventions such as outreach, parent-teen mediation, solution-oriented counseling strategies, connection to community resources and referrals, and enhancement of parenting and life skills.

The Sexual Abuse Intervention Program (SAIP)

The Sexual Abuse Intervention Program provides counselling, support and education to children aged 5-19 and their families who have been affected by sexual abuse. Counsellors also provide information and education regarding healthy sexuality and abuse prevention and protection to parents and community service providers.

Positively Pregnant

This is for parents-to-be or parents of babies up to 6 months of age. We provide pre-natal information, support and supplements as well as nutritious meal.

Coffee Talk

This drop in program is for parents/caregivers with children 0-6 years of age. The group meets to enjoy a healthy lunch, utilize the family friendly facility, and participate in parent-child interactive activities.

Nobody's Perfect Parenting

A parenting program for parents with children 6 months to 5 years of age, this program is offered two times per year in partnership with Interior Health. On-site child care is provided.
