Imagine what it would be like to have your very own playhouse as a kid. Maybe some of you had one when you were growing up.
President and CEO, Brad Thorlakson came up with the idea of having Tolko give 5 families their very own mini-cottage where the the kids could dream and explore. Their own special place to pretend and play. The Tolko Team came together from all over to assemble the playhouses as part of a team building initiative and then presented the houses to the kids and their families.
The bonus is that Tolko also donated a playhouse to both the Okanagan Boys and Girls Clubs in Vernon and Armstrong. These amazing structures will give our Club kids a chance to imagine and experience play while they are with us everyday.
Not only did they donate two to our Clubs, Tolko has also donated an additional one to use as a fundraiser.
"We are privileged in many ways and we believe it is important to give back to the people in our community", said Mr.Thorlakson.
What terrific community partners creating joy for our families, our Clubs and giving us a chance to raise funds to further support our vision of giving young people the best chance at a "Great Future".
Special thanks to Rellish Transport and Armstrong Crane who donated their services to transport and deliver the playhouses to the children's backyards and KalTire Place for providing the space to assemble the structures.
The Friends Together Children from the Okanagan Boys and Girls Clubs - Vernon Club who were lucky recipients of a club play house, visited the Tolko Head Office to thank them for their incredible donation. Tolko was presented with a thank you card and plaque from the Happy Club Kids!
