November 15th, is National Philanthropy Day and Okanagan Boys and Girls Clubs celebrate National Philanthropy Day® by recognizing the extraordinary generosity and dedication of donors and volunteers who support our work.
“Philanthropy brings people together to work on important, common issues affecting each other, and improve the quality of life in our communities,” said Richelle Leckey, OBGC Community Engagement Coordinator. “Service to OBGC is the foundation of our organization and philanthropy has been responsible for so many incredible achievements—feeding our kids, housing homeless and at risk youth, teaching children leadership, empathy and kindness, to name just a few. It’s critical that we take a moment to remember what philanthropy and the work of OBGC has accomplished so much this past year.
“Canadians give billions of dollars to charity every year, but it’s not those numbers that are so impressive,” said Richelle. “Rather, it is the impact that we make that defines philanthropy and our work.
On behalf of Okanagan Boys and Girls Clubs, I want to extend our great thanks and appreciation to everyone who supports our organization. Together we are working to ensure that our children, youth and families have a safe place to be "Where Everyone Belongs. Thank you for everything you do!”
