Okanagan Boys and Girls Clubs – Youth Centre’s provide programs and services to youth across the Okanagan between the ages of 13 – 19. The Youth Center staff provide life skills programs, counseling services, recreation programs, employment services,  shelter, housing support and assistance with homework, scholarship applications and so much more.

Our staff work with the youth to create a welcoming, supportive atmosphere and most importantly built strong relationships with each of these young people. They work to empower and support them through great times and tough times. Together staff and youth are able to create a path to support their success, providing them with opportunities to learn what it takes to become healthy, independent and educated adults in society.Grad 2018 1

For some youth, education and school has it’s challenges. It takes a lot of support and will to keep going when learning doesn't come easy, you don't fit in or you are facing challenges in other aspect of your life.

One of our youth had been experiencing difficulties with their family and was living away home for a while. Thankfully, they had the Youth Centre and staff to turn to. With commitment and dedication this youth was able to work with Okanagan Boys and Girls Clubs - Reconnect program and make a successful return home.  This created stability and allowed this particular youth to worked hard to become an excellent role model for younger members and successfully complete high school this year.

"Watching a few of the youth GRADUATE high school this past month has been an honor. We see the youth efforts result in amazing success." - staff across the Valley.

Staff also have the benefit of being able to work with you to apply for several scholarship programs offered through the Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada. Thanks to the support of Best Buy and Professional Institute of the Public Service of Canada Scholarship fund we have had a couple of our members get a boost up with the cost of tuition, supplies and course fees.

From all of us at Okanagan Boys and Girls Clubs congratulations Class of 2018, your dedication and efforts is inspiring. We cannot wait to see what the future holds.
