Okanagan Boys and Girls Clubs is currently recruiting emergency foster families to provide emergency, short and medium-term care to young people in the care of the Ministry of Children and Family Development. Families will be part of a team of caregiving homes that provide emergency care to children and youth.
Families must be available 24 hours a day to receive a young person and be flexible about the ages and behaviour of children coming into the home. One person must be home full-time.
To be successful the applicant must be willing to participate in or provide:
- An in-depth SAFE Home Study
- A Criminal Record Check
- A valid B.C. Driver’s License
- A driver's abstract + reliable vehicle
- Evidence of third party liability insurance coverage
The Okanagan Boys and Girls Clubs, in association with Ministry for Children and Family Development additionally provide ongoing supports and guidance to approved Emergency Foster Families.
