Last night we celebrated 59 years in the Okanagan supporting children, youth and families who need us the most.
Our Annual General Meeting is always a chance to reflect on the work of our team, the amazing support of our community partners, donors and volunteers and to recognize the growth of our young people.
With over 50 people present including our Board of Directors, we recognized two board members who will be stepping down after giving so much to our local Boys and Girl Clubs as well as to the Boys and Girls Clubs movement nationally. Thank you so much to Larry Thomas and Shawn Wylie.
We are happy to have Brent Mundle and Chris Rigg joining the 2018/2-2019 Board of Directors.
Our CEO, Diane Entwistle spoke of the reason why we come to work every day, the belief we in all our children and youth, to become happy, healthy, successful adults......a chance at a "Great Future". "We know when we provide young people with the support, encouragement and learning through positive relationships and high quality programing, we can help kids become contributing adults in our community. Life is tough for many kids and at the Okanagan Boys and Girls Clubs we want every kid to be a kid of privilege", said Diane.
We are looking forward to the coming year and celebrating our 60th Anniversary. We hope you will join us.
