MNP Accounting took time out of their busy tax season to stopped by the Okanagan Boys and Girls Clubs - Rutland to present the Club with a generous donation of supplies. Mnp Donation

Shawna Grassmick and Rachelle from MNP Accounting rallied their coworkers over several weeks and gathered craft and arts materials, acrylic and water paints, sewing materials, and a bowling set, among other things. They expressed the hope that the materials would enrich our programming and inspire us to continue pushing the bounds of creativity and fun with our activities. They also proved their insider knowledge of our kids and their favorite activities when they brought with them boxes of plastic baggies. “It’s for when the kids make slime”, they said!

All of the kids had this to say to our guests: “Thank you for giving us new fun things for our Club!”. There were lots of smiles and hugs, reflecting the gratitude we all felt.

“It was so encouraging to be the recipient of their donations. It’s a beautiful thing when community comes together to support each other and to create amazing opportunities for our kids! Thank you so much to MNP for believing in our work and mission.” – Gabby, Program Leader at Rutland Club

"MNP as a firm values the communities where we work and live and encourages team members to get involved and give back. We choose to run a donation drive in our office to provide necessary items to different charities each quarter. This quarter we chose to focus on the Boys and Girls Club in Rutland. The Boys & Girls Club has played a special role in the lives of many of our team members including mine", said Shawna Grassmick, who lead this initiative in MNP’s Kelowna Office.

Shawna herself attended when she was younger, as did her younger brother and now her daughter. Another MNP employee, Ashley Derbyshire, attended when she was in school and all her friends were jealous she got to go to the Club and have fun everyday. She has many fond memories of all the fun times she had there. Ashley’s sister found her voice and lost her shyness through the Boys and Girls Club.

For these reasons and so many more they were happy to collect donations for the Rutland Boys and Girls Club.

Ant that's not alll........MNP is has also committed to raising funds for the Okanagan Boys and Girls Clubs this year through their MNP’s 2019 Reach Out Campaign . They nominate and choose two local charities each year and this year it is the Boys and Girls Clubs.

How the MNP Reach Out Program Works.......For every client that is referred to MNP we reach out and make a donation back to the two charities as a way to say thank you to our clients and friends of the firm.Last year's campaign helped raise $15,000 to last year’s charities ($7500 each). This campaign will run until the end of December 2019.”
